    • Symbol – PEARL
      Address the changing symbolism of the pearl throughout the book. What did it symbolize at the beginning? Middle? End? Why was it so important to Kino and his family? Provide specifics and text evidence (w/ page #) to support answers.
    • Themes
      1)     Social Oppression
      2)     Greed/Corruption
      3)     Man as a part of nature
      4)     Good vs. Evil
      For each theme above, list 2-3 quotes for each that clear identify those themes throughout the book.  Please provide page numbers and explanation as to why that quote is appropriate.
