*Animal Farm Exam - Tuesday, March 6th 
-"Persuasion Terms" notes (look over all notes except the “rhetorical devices” page)
- look over annotations from ch.5 to the end of the book
- Comparison chart (character vs history) 
- be able to apply literary terms (identify characterization, irony, theme…)

    ***The test is 40 questions, all multiple choice, on scantrons. Study your Persuasion Terms Notes/Definitions AND Old Major’s Speech.***

    * What are the 4 parts of an argument?
    * What are opposing arguments vs counterarguments?
    * Make sure you know the persuasive techniques/appeals.
    * Make sure you know the logical fallacies.
    *What is the major difference between a hasty generalization and stereotype?
    *Make sure you know your rhetorical devices.
    *Mark sure you know parts of an argument and types of support

      • Old Major offers 3 claims in his speech:
        1. The life of an animal is misery and slavery
        2. Man is the only creature that consumes without producing
        3. All men are enemies. All animals are comrades

        STEP ONE: Choose 1 claim to analyze from “OM” Speech
        ·       Create a unique and original eye-catching way to arrange this information on your poster. 
        ·       Quote from the text with page number citations for each example.
        ·       YOU MUST include analysis the following sections. Use your notes in your writer's notebook
        1.    Clearly state the Claim you are analyzing on the poster (opinion/position)?
        2.    Identify types (multiple examples) of Support/Evidence utilized? (facts, quotes, statistics, anecdotes, examples).
        3.    Persuasive technique(s) used
        4.    Logical Fallacies
        5.    Rhetorical Devices
